Three juniors entered this event: Dan Harris from Springhouse, Alfie Curtis from Canvey, and Curtis Brown from SETTS (Paul Brown's son).

All three lads gave a creditable performance in the round robin. Alfie started well, just losing the first game 11-9 to Curtis and then taking the next two 7 and 7. However he couldn't maintain the momentum, losing the final two games 11-8, 11-8.

Curtis then met Dan, and although losing in three, pushed him hard in the third before bowing out 16-14.

Dan then needed to beat Alfie in the final set to win the trophy, which he duly did in three straight 11-7, 11-8, 11-7.

In the absence of last year's winner George Pavitt, there were only two entrants, Les Tayler and Ken Field.
